Wilder Park | Peterborough, NH

Wilder Park in Peterborough is a lovely area on the Contoocook River, just off of Rt. 202 about a mile north of the center of Peterborough.

The Peterborough Rotary led an effort to make improvements on the park. With prep assistance from the Town of Peterborough, we removed the dead and dying shrubs near the entrance and along the West side arch gully. Then we planted:

· Two rhododendrons - one on either side of the entrance – these will grow to be quite  large.
· Two dwarf rhododendrons - these will grow to be about 2 ft high and 3 ft in diameter.
· 5 potentillas along the gully on the West side of the arch – these will grow to be about 5 ft high and 5 ft in diameter – with yellow flowers that will bloom much of the summer.
· One crab apple (on the West end of the park between Paul’s Corner and the stone steps that John Kaufhold rebuilt last year).
· Transplanted healthy woodruff ground cover from the East side of the entrance to the West side.
